What is considered new information in a dispute?

Any detail or documentation is considered new if you haven't previously shared it with Chime in the initial dispute or a prior rebuttal.

The following examples aren’t considered new information:

  • initial statements or information already noted by previous agents
  • identical answers to dispute filing questions
  • duplicate documentation from the previous rebuttal request

Below are general examples of new information.

  • Incorrect or missing data from the dispute Intake Form (provided during an RFD)
  • Additional context such as circumstances around the transaction, relevant communications, and steps taken (often verbal and unaccompanied with written documentation, and may change depending on the dispute type)
  • Different information regarding the location of your belongings (verbal or written)
  • Receipt of purchase / Proof of purchase / Invoices
  • Delivery or shipping details, confirmation email, and tracking number
  • Documentation of your location (flight tickets, reservations, GPS history, hospital bills, prison record, or timesheet)
  • Screenshots of your conversation with the merchant regarding the order(s)
  • Police report
  • Proof of delivery or tracking number
  • Statement of the timeline of events
  • Photos of the defective or damaged merchandise
  • Description of the item on the merchant's website, including a link to the page (verbal or written)
  • Evidence that the price paid differs from the listed price
  • Requests to cancel or stop the transaction with the merchant
