How long does it take for Chime Plus status to activate after my deposit?

Chime Plus* benefits typically activate within 24 hours after you meet the eligibility requirements. You’ll qualify once, within the last 34 days, you receive either:
  • One qualifying direct deposit (QDD) of $200 or more, or
  • $400 or more total from QDDs.

What if Chime Plus doesn’t activate?

If 24 hours have passed and you still don’t see Chime Plus badge:

  1. Check your direct deposit amount
    • Confirm that, within the last 34 days, you received either one $200 or more qualifying direct deposit or $400 or more total.
  2. Confirm the qualifying source:
    1. Payroll deposits from an employer
    2. Government benefits (e.g., Social Security, VA benefits)
    3. Gig economy payments (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash)
  3. Restart your app – Close and reopen the Chime app.
