Why don't I have Chime Plus status even though I made a direct deposit?

If you made a direct deposit but don’t see Chime Plus, here are some possible reasons:

1. Did you meet the Chime Plus qualifying direct deposit requirement?

  • You qualify for Chime Plus if you receive either of the following within the last  34-calendar-day period:
    • A single qualifying direct deposit of $200 or more, or
    • Cumulative qualifying direct deposits totaling $400 to $2,999.99

  • Was your deposit split into smaller amounts?
    • A single $200 qualifying direct deposit must post as one deposit to meet the single-deposit requirement. If your pay was split into smaller deposits, it may still count toward the $400 cumulative total, as long as the combined amount meets the threshold within the last 34 days.

2. Did your deposit come from a qualifying source?

✅ Qualifies:

  • Payroll deposits from an employer
  • Government benefits (e.g., Social Security, VA benefits)
  • Gig economy payments (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash)

❌ Does NOT qualify:

  • Bank ACH transfers
  • Mobile check deposits
  • Peer-to-peer transfers (e.g., Venmo, PayPal, Cash App)
  • Pay Anyone transfers
  • Verification or trial deposits from financial institutions
  • Cash deposits
  • One-time direct deposits (e.g., tax refunds)

3. Has it been at least 24 hours?

  • Chime Plus benefits may take up to 24-hours to activate.
