How can I transfer money from my Chime Checking Account to another bank?

Before you begin

To transfer money to another bank, you’ll first need to link an external account. You can do this in one of two ways:

  • Link an external bank account using Plaid:

    • You can link your external account to your Chime account if Plaid supports that external bank and if both accounts are in your name. See How do I link an external bank account? for more information. 

  • Link a debit card for instant transfers:

To transfer money in the Chime app:

  1. Tap Move on the home screen.

  2. Tap Transfer Money.

  3. Choose the From and To accounts.

    • Chime Checking and any linked external accounts will appear as options.

    • Chime Savings and Credit Builder accounts can’t be used for ACH transfers.

  4. To add a new external account, tap Add another account and follow the prompts.

  5. Enter the amount to transfer, then tap Review.

  6. Check that the details are correct.

  7. Tap Transfer to complete your request.

  8. You’ll see a confirmation pop-up and receive a confirmation email shortly after.

  9. Upon transfer, a 1.75% fee applies to the total transfer amount for each debit card instant transfer.

To transfer money oChime.com:

  1. Sign in at chime.com, then select Move Money in the menu bar.

  2. Choose the From and To accounts.

    • Chime Checking and any linked external accounts will appear as options.

    • Chime Savings and Credit Builder accounts are not eligible for ACH transfers.

  3. To link a new account, click Link a new account and follow the prompts.

  4. Enter the amount to transfer, then click Transfer.

  5. Review your transfer details.

  6. Click Confirm to finish the transfer.

  7. You’ll see a confirmation pop-up and receive a confirmation email shortly after.
