You can easily transfer money from your Chime Checking Account via the Chime app or website in two ways.
The first method involves linking your Chime account with external bank accounts through the services provided by Plaid. You can link your external account to your Chime account if Plaid supports that external bank and if both accounts are in your name.
To link your external account to your Chime Checking Account in your app:
-
- Tap Move.
- Tap the Transfer money button to go to the Transfer screen.
- Select your account from the dropdown under To.
- Select Link a New Account.
- Select Bank Account.
- Tap Continue and follow the instructions.
Once your external account is linked, you can use the Chime app to make transfers from your Chime account to your external account. Make sure you have enough money in your Chime account to complete the transfer. To add funds to your account, you can set up direct deposit with your employer or benefits provider.
You can check your transfer limits anytime in the Chime app.
Chime does not set a limit on ACH transfers initiated from an external account. There’s no limit on the number of transfers per day or the total transfer amount. However, external bank accounts may have their own limits or fees, so be sure to check with them.
When you transfer money to your external bank account, it can take 1-3 business days for the money to appear in your external bank account, depending on your external bank’s policies.
Please note that you cannot initiate transfers from your external savings account to your Chime account within the Chime mobile app or website. To do this, you can initiate the transfer from your external bank’s app instead.
The second method is to instantly transfer money from your Chime account to an external account by linking an external debit card.
