How do I change my password?

To change your password while logged in to the Chime app, follow the steps below.

    1. Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
    2. Tap  Personal info.
    3. Tap Update Password.
    4. Enter your current password and tap Next.
    5. Enter your new password and tap Next.

Once you’ve successfully updated your password, you will receive a confirmation email and text message from Chime.

What if I forgot my password or can't log in?

You can reset your password in the Chime app or on our website.

    1. Open the Chime app and tap Log in.
    2. On the log-in screen, tap Need help? and select I forgot my password.
    3. Enter the email address associated with your account, then tap Submit.
    4. You'll be sent a security code on the phone number associated with your account. When you receive the code, enter it and tap Submit.
    5. After you verify your phone number, you'll receive a password recovery link via email. In the email, tap Reset Password and create a new password.

Note: The next time you sign in to the Chime mobile app, you'll be prompted to create a new four-digit mobile unlock passcode.

Why is my password reset process different from what's described above?

For your safety, we may occasionally ask for additional information to verify your account, such as the last four digits of your card number or social security number.

What if I changed my phone number or can't receive the verification code via SMS?

During the password reset process, tap or click Update number, then follow the instructions to verify your account and update your phone number. You can also visit How do I update my phone number? for more information about this process or if you have verification code concerns.

What if I forgot or don't have access to the email address associated with my account?

Visit How do I update my email address? to learn how to update the email address on your account. Once updated, you can proceed to the password reset process above.
