What is Chime’s Virtual Card?

Use your virtual card

  • Shop online.

  • Set up recurring payments and subscriptions.

  • Make in-store purchases by adding your card to Apple Pay,Google Pay, or Samsung Pay.

Virtual card limitations

A physical card is required for the following:

  • Withdraw cash at ATMs.

  • Get cash back at checkout.

  • Withdraw cash over the counter at a bank or credit union.

  • Deposit cash. To deposit cash, an alternative option is to use the barcode in the Chime app at a retail location.

Find your virtual card

  1. Tap Profile > Cards.

  2. Swipe to your virtual card at the top of the screen.

  3. Tap Show number to see your full card number, expiration date, and CVV.

Freeze your virtual card

You cannot opt out of the virtual card, but you can freeze or unfreeze it at any time. Freezing your virtual card does not affect your physical card, and vice versa. For more information on how to freeze your card, visit Lock, unlock, and secure your Chime card.

Virtual card vs. physical card

Your virtual and physical versions of the same card use the same PIN, so you only have to set it once. For example, your virtual Chime Visa® Debit Card and physical Chime Visa® Debit Card use the same PIN. Your virtual Chime Card and physical Chime Card also use the same PIN.
