Chime supports U.S.-issued Visa and Mastercard debit cards. Discover cards, including new Capital One cards, aren’t supported.
Supported and unsupported card networks
You can link an external debit card to transfer money into your Chime account. Chime supports most major networks, including Visa and Mastercard.
| Card Network | Status |
| Visa | Accepted |
| Mastercard | Accepted |
| American Express (Amex) | Not accepted |
| Discover | Not accepted |
What are my other transfer options?
If your debit card is not supported, you can still move money using the following methods:
Send with Pay Anyone
Instantly send money to friends or family, even if they don't use Chime.
Link an external bank account
Use Plaid in the Chime app to safely connect your external bank account and transfer money into your Chime account. For step-by-step instructions, see How do I fund my Chime account using my external account?
Transfer from external bank
Log in to your external bank’s app or website and enter your Chime routing and account numbers. Then, send money from that external account to Chime. For more details, visit How do I initiate a money transfer from my external account?
Why can’t I link my Capital One debit card?
Capital One is transitioning all debit cards (including Mastercard and Visa) to the Discover network, which is not currently supported by Chime. If your card falls under this network, you can link a different debit card from Visa or Mastercard instead.
