How do I fund my Chime account using my external account?

Once your external account is successfully linked, you can use the Chime mobile app or Chime.com to make transfers from the external account to your Checking Account:

Via the Chime app:

  1. Tap Move Money.

  2. Tap Transfer Money

  3. Select your account from the dropdown under From.

  4. Enter the amount to transfer.

  5. Tap Transfer.

Via Chime.com

  1. Select Move Money from the menu.

  2. Choose the From and To accounts and enter the amount.

  3. Click Transfer.

  4. Review and confirm the transfer by clicking Schedule.

Note: You cannot initiate transfers from your external savings account into your Chime account using the Chime app or website. To do this, initiate the transfer directly from your external bank.

If you get an error when trying to transfer money from a linked external account using the Chime app, try initiating the transfer directly from your external bank instead. Some banks process transfers more easily from their own platforms.

To do this, you may need your account number and routing number, which you can find in the Chime app by tapping Profile > Account info, or on Chime.com by going to Settings > Account info.
