What Chime accounts do I have, and which cards come with them?

Chime offers different accounts, and each works differently. Some accounts come with a card, while others don’t.

Chime Card (Secured Chime Visa® Credit Card)

Card colors: Evergreen (dark) green, Onyx (black) Metal for Chime Prime members, or for purchase titanium color Metal for Chime Plus and Chime Prime members.

How this card works: The app shows one Available balance; per your Chime Credit Card Agreement, funds automatically move between your Checking and Secured Deposit Account to complete purchases.

The secured Chime Visa® Credit Card (also called the Chime Card) is a secured credit card designed to help you build credit.

The Chime Card:

  • Is a credit card and may not work at merchants that only accept debit cards or cash

    • Your other Chime cards, including your Chime Visa® Debit Card, remain active and available for debit purchases

  • Can be used anywhere Visa credit cards are accepted for everyday spending

  • Draws from the Available balance shown in the app

    • This is a single combined spending balance funded through your Chime Checking Account and held in your Secured Deposit Account

On-time payments are reported to the major credit bureaus and may help build credit. Results vary by credit behavior and scoring model.

Members may have different physical Chime Card designs, including dark greenblack, or (for some offers) a titanium option. All Chime Cards work the same way for spending and credit-building, regardless of design. After transferring funds out of Savings, you can use your Chime Card for spending.

Chime Checking Account

Associated card: Chime Visa® Debit Card
Card color: White

Your Chime Checking Account comes with the original white Chime Visa® Debit Card, which is connected to your Checking Account.

Like the Chime Card, you can use this debit card to:

  • Make everyday purchases (in-store, online, and in apps)

  • Withdraw cash from ATMs

  • Access money funded by direct deposit, cash deposits, or transfers

That Available balance is what you can spend using your Checking Account and Chime Visa® Debit Card. After transferring funds out of Savings, you can use your debit card for spending.

Credit Builder Account

Associated card: Secured Chime Credit Builder Visa® Credit Card
Card color: Light Green

The Credit Builder Account comes with a light green secured Chime Credit Builder Visa® Credit Card attached to a secured credit account. It’s designed to help you build credit responsibly.

You can use this card to:

  • Make purchases anywhere Visa is accepted

  • Build a history of on-time payments when you pay your balance as agreed

Credit impact: Using the card and making on-time payments are reported to the major credit bureaus and may help you build credit. Credit outcomes vary by credit behavior and scoring model.

Your spending limit is based on the amount of money you move into your Credit Builder Secured Deposit Account (for example, by moving funds from your Checking Account).

Chime Savings Account

Associated card: None

The Chime Savings Account does not come with its own card and can’t be used directly for purchases or ATM withdrawals.

With a Savings Account, you can:

  • Move money between your Checking and Saving accounts in the Chime app or on chime.com

  • Earn interest on your savings balance
