When a merchant issues a refund, it means they’re sending money back to your account for a purchase that has already settled.. This usually happens after you return something or you are not happy with the product or service.
Refunds usually take 5–7 business days (not including weekends and holidays) to show up in your account. The processing timeline begins when the merchant initiates the refund—not when the return is made. This is on the merchant’s side and is out of our control.
Chime doesn’t control this part, we don’t have a way to speed this up. You’ll get a notification when the refund starts, along with an estimated date. Once the money hits your account, we’ll send another notification—and you’ll see it listed as a positive amount in your transactions.
Keep an eye out for a refund to be posted in your transaction history within the Chime app.
