If you authorized a merchant to charge your account for a recurring payment and would like to stop future charges, you can request a stop payment. For card transactions, a stop payment lasts for 60 months or until you ask us to remove it. Stop payments only block future transactions, not those that are already pending.
You can stop recurring payments made directly from your Chime Visa® Debit Card, secured Chime Credit Builder Visa® Credit Card or secured Chime Visa® Credit Card, including:
Recurring transactions: Ongoing charges without an agreed-upon end date
Installment transactions: Continuous payments set for a specific time period
Other card-on-file transactions: Payments initiated by cardholders
To request a stop payment, contact us (refer to How do I contact Chime customer service?) as soon as possible before your next recurring payment is scheduled so we can attempt to stop it.
Keep in mind that stopping a recurring payment doesn't guarantee all future transactions will be stopped. Factors such as the type of transaction, timing of the request, and the merchant's processing network can affect its effectiveness. The best way to ensure recurring payments are canceled is to contact the merchant directly and ask them to remove your authorization.
