How do I get a higher SpotMe® limit?

Your SpotMe base limit is automatically determined by your account activity and can’t be changed manually by a Chime Member Service agent. But don’t worry – there are a few ways you can temporarily increase your limit. You can:

  • Look out for SpotMe Bonuses: From time to time, Chime offers limited-time promos that can temporarily raise your limit.
  • Check your personal max setting: Even if you qualify for a higher limit, you may have set a personal max that’s holding your limit down.

To adjust it in your Chime app:

          1. Go to the SpotMe hub (Visit How do I find my SpotMe limit? for the step-by-step instructions.)
          2. If your total shows “Higher limit available” — you can increase it
          3. Tap the pencil icon next to your current limit to update your personal max
  • You can also explore other Chime products to help manage short-term expenses, such as MyPay1 and Instant Loans2. To learn more, visit the articles below:

Helpful tips to get the most out of SpotMe

    • Send Boosts to friends: this can increase your chances of receiving one in return (though not guaranteed).
    • Maximize Boosts and Bonuses: if you have less than 4 Boosts or under $50 in SpotMe bonuses, you might qualify for more.
          • Check the SpotMe page in your Chime app for current offers and eligibility.

*Boosts are available to eligible Chime members enrolled in SpotMe® and are subject to monthly limits.
