How do I close my Chime account?

You can close your Chime account in the Chime mobile app.

      1. Go to Settings.
      2. Tap Personal info.
      3. Tap Close Account and follow the steps.

Alternatively, you can call us at (844) 244-6363.

We’ll close your account within five business days of receiving your request. Once your account is closed, you can no longer access it. If you need tax documents or other types of statements for the account before closing it, download them in the Documents section of your app settings.

What if I have money in my account when I close it?

We recommend you transfer any money in your account to an external bank account before closing it. Visit How do I transfer money from my Chime Checking Account to an external bank account? to learn how. If you’re unable to transfer the money before closing your account, we’ll mail you a check for the available balance within 30 days of account closure. Please ensure your address is up to date in the app settings under Personal info.

What if I have a negative balance when I close it?

How do I close a deceased member’s account?

Call us at (844) 244-6363.

Can I re-open my Chime account after I close it?

Call us at (844) 244-6363 if you need help reopening an account you closed. Please note that you cannot open a new account if you have a previously closed account.
