What to know before closing your account
Account closure requests are processed within five (5) business days. If you requested the closure, you may be able to cancel the closure within that timeframe. Once closed, you will no longer be able to access your account. Accounts closed cannot be reopened. Accounts with negative balances cannot be closed.
Here’s a to-do list before closing your account:
Download any tax documents or statements from Profile > Documents before closing your account.
Transfer your remaining balance to an external bank account.

If you don’t transfer your funds, a refund check will be issued within 14 days of your account closure.
If the 14th day falls on a weekend or holiday, the check will be processed on the next business day.
Delivery may take up to 30 days from the account closure date.
Cancel any recurring payments or transfers linked to your account, such as direct deposits and automatic bill payments.
Contact the companies involved to update your payment information before your account is closed.
Make sure your mailing address is up to date in Profile > Personal info.
