How do I close my Chime account?

You can close your Chime Checking Account in the Chime mobile app.

      1. Go to Profile.
      2. Tap Personal info.
      3. Tap Close Account and follow the steps.

Alternatively, you can call us at (844) 244-6363 to close any of your accounts, whether it is a Checking Account, or Savings Account.

Checking Account closure requests are typically processed within 5 business days. If you have any remaining balance (s) we'll process a refund check within fourteen (14) days of account closure to be subsequently mailed to the address we have on file. If the 14th day after closure is a weekend or a holiday, then the check will be processed by the next business day. Allow thirty (30) days from the closure date to receive the check in the mail. Once your account is closed, you can no longer access it. If you need tax documents or other types of statements for the account before closing it, download them in the Documents section of your app profile.

What if I have money in my account when I close it?

We recommend you transfer any money in your account to an external bank account before closing it. Visit How do I transfer money from my Chime Checking Account to an external bank account? to learn how.
