Navigate to the Tax Hub on the app's homepage and follow the step-by-step instructions under File your taxes for free.
Key Features of filing taxes through Chime:
-
- File early in the app starting January 9 (if eligible). If you file before the IRS officially opens, our tax filing partners will hold your submission and send it to the IRS when they open and start accepting filings.
- Monitor your return status in-app, from "In Progress" to "E-Filed," and then "Accepted" after IRS review. After your return is Accepted, IRS refund processing times may vary.
- Access direct support from our tax filing partners for filing statuses and itemized deductions.
- You can get your federal tax refund up to six days early with direct deposit to your Chime account. Chime does not guarantee the timing of refund. The six-day refund estimate is based on 2023 tax year filing date. Refund timing estimates are dependent upon the timing of complete tax return submission and when the IRS submits your refund.
If you filed taxes with Chime last year, view your previous return by accessing "Tax Documents" in the Tax Hub or Settings.
