It's best to only use Pay Anyone for payments to friends you trust. Before confirming your payment, make sure to review your payment details on the review screen. You'll see the amount, recipient name, $ChimeSign (if they’re a Chime member), funding source (Chime Checking Account or external debit card), and the memo.
Transfers to Chime members are instant* and can’t be reversed, so make sure everything is correct before sending. If you're unsure, confirm the recipient's $ChimeSign (if applicable) or send a small payment first to verify.
If you don't receive goods or services from a merchant after a Pay Anyone transfer, you'll need to resolve it with them directly. And since Pay Anyone works like cash:
- We can’t reverse a payment once it’s sent to another Chime member, or once a non-member has claimed it.
- If you send money to the wrong person or for the wrong amount, you'll need to work with the recipient to get your funds back.
- Learn more on what to do when you accidentally send a transfer to the wrong person, visit What if I send a Pay Anyone transfer to the wrong person?
If you suspect unauthorized activity on your Checking Account or an unapproved Pay Anyone transfer, call us immediately at (844) 244-6363.
Check your Deposit Account Agreement under Pay Anyone for details.
*Funds are automatically debited from your Checking Account and typically deposited into the recipient’s Checking Account within seconds. Pay Anyone transactions will be monitored and may be held, delayed, or blocked if the transfer could result in fraud or another form of financial harm.
