Which 1099 form you'll receive
Chime issues two types of 1099 forms, depending on what you earned during the tax year:
1099-INT: You'll receive this form if you earned $10 or more in interest or qualifying bonuses. This includes savings account interest, referee bonuses, account opening credits, deposit incentives, and round-up bonuses moved to savings.
1099-MISC: You'll receive this form if you earned $600 or more in Chime promotions, sweepstakes, or prizes. This includes referrer bonuses, sweepstakes winnings, and other prizes.
If you meet the threshold for both, you'll receive both forms. All 1099 forms are also reported directly to the IRS.
How to access your 1099
Chime issues 1099 forms by January 31 for the prior tax year. How you receive yours depends on your account status:
Active account: You'll receive an email with steps to view your form in the app or on the web. Go to Profile > Documents > Tax documents to download it.
Closed or suspended account: A paper copy is mailed to the last address on file on behalf of Chime.
If you didn't receive a 1099, it most likely means your account didn't meet the minimum threshold required to generate one.
If something's wrong with your 1099
Didn't receive it or need a correction: Call Chime at (844) 244-6363. We can help confirm whether a form was issued and assist with corrections.

Using your 1099 to file: How you report 1099 income depends on the form type and your personal tax situation. For accurate filing, use tax preparation software, consult a tax professional, or visit irs.gov for official guidance.
