Our cash back rewards1 program lets secured Chime Visa® Credit Card (Chime Card) holders with Chime Prime or Chime Plus status2 earn cash back in a rewards with rotating categories of their choice. Members with Chime Prime and Chime Plus status can earn monthly cash back rewards on eligible purchases made with an active Chime Card in a category they choose.
- 5% cash back rewards on up to $1,500 in eligible purchases each month with Chime Prime status.
- Up to $75/month in cash back
- 2% cash back rewards on up to $1,500 in eligible purchases each month with Chime Plus status.
- Up to $30/month in cash back
- Up to $30/month in cash back
Your earn rate is the percentage of cash back earned on purchases in your selected rewards category. Your earn rate updates immediately if you switch Chime tiers. For example, if you have Chime Prime status at the beginning of the month but have Chime Plus status by mid-month, you won’t lose the cash back you’ve already earned—but new purchases will earn cash back based on your current Chime status.

You can choose from the following rewards categories:
- Grocery stores
- Gas
- Monthly bills (utilities, cable, streaming, etc.)
- Restaurants
- Rideshare/Taxi
- Travel

3. Tap Select Category to save your category.
Earning cash back in your rewards category
● You’ll need to use your Chime Card. Rewards are not available on the secured Chime Credit Builder Visa® Credit Card or Chime Visa® Debit Card.
● Select your rewards category at any time during the calendar month.
○ Your category selection activates immediately, but only for future transactions—purchases made earlier in the month won’t qualify. For example, if you select your category on May 10th at 12pm, only transactions after that time qualify.
● If you don’t select a category for the month, your last selected category will roll over automatically.
○ You can only choose your rewards category once per month. The next opportunity to change it will be the 1st of the following calendar month.
● Chime disburses cash back rewards, usually within nine (9) calendar days after an eligible purchase settles. They are automatically deposited into your Chime account. Rewards will be paid through the checking account and automatically swept to the Secured Deposit Account.
Reasons you may have not received rewards
There could be several reasons you didn’t earn rewards on a transaction:
- You didn’t select your category for the calendar month.
- The transaction category (MCC) didn’t match your chosen rewards category.
- You reached the $1,500 monthly eligible purchases limit.
- You used a non-Chime Card (Credit Builder Card and Chime Debit Card aren’t supported at this time).
