How does MyPay® repayment work?

When you take a MyPay advance, you authorize Chime to automatically collect repayment from your Chime Checking Account. These authorizations are required to move forward with a MyPay advance and ensure full transparency around how and when repayment may occur. Your estimated pay date is based on your deposit history and pay schedule. 

When Chime collects repayment for MyPay, you may see one or two transactions in your Chime Checking Account activity:

  • MyPay Repayment: This transaction includes the total amount of MyPay advances you took during the pay period. If you didn’t use any instant advances, this will be your only repayment transaction.
  • MyPay Instant Advance Fees: If you use the instant advance delivery option ($2 per advance), you’ll see a single transaction labeled "MyPay Instant Advance Fees." This covers the total fees from the previous pay period.

If you're enrolled in other Chime products with automatic repayments (like SpotMe or Instant Loans), those will be repaid first. Once those payments are processed, any remaining money from your deposit will be applied to your MyPay balance. Any Instant Advance fees will be repaid first, and the remaining funds will go toward your outstanding advance(s). If your Qualifying Direct Deposit doesn’t fully cover your MyPay balance:

  • Chime will only debit up to the amount of the deposit.
  • After your estimated pay date, if you still have an outstanding balance, Chime will collect repayment from any deposit or funding into your Chime Checking Account.

If your MyPay balance is greater than $20, Chime will only attempt repayment if your qualifying deposit is at least $20. Additionally, if your balance is less than $20 we’ll pull from a deposit if it will cover the entire balance. 

Chime will attempt automatic repayment up to four times for each advance. If repayment is unsuccessful after four attempts, you may lose access to MyPay until the full balance is paid manually.
