When requesting a MyPay® advance from the Chime mobile app, you have the option to have it transferred directly into your Chime Checking account or your Chime Credit Builder account.
To have your advance transferred directly to your Credit Builder account, you can select the option in the app when requesting an advance:
-
-
- Request an advance by hitting Get Money as you normally would.
- After you enter the amount, whether Scheduled or Instant, and confirm the advance you’ll be asked in the app if you want to Transfer to Credit Builder.
- If you select that option, the advance will go directly to your Credit Builder account.
-
You can also pre-select this option in your account settings so that your advances always go to your Credit Builder account:
-
-
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down and select MyPay Advances.
- Select Credit Builder.
- Tap Save.
-
The amount you advanced during the pay period, regardless of which account you transferred it to, plus any fees you incurred ($2 per instant advance), will still be deducted from your Chime Checking account to repay your outstanding MyPay balance when you receive your next direct deposit from an eligible source.
Chime Credit Builder is a secured credit card. Credit limits are based on the amount moved into the secured deposit account. Chime does not report MyPay advances to credit bureaus.
