How do I get a loan?

Instant Loans* are available to eligible members, and we're working to expand access in the future. If you're eligible, Chime will notify you with a push notification and message in the app. Eligibility criteria includes:
  • Being 18 or older.
  • Living in an eligible state.
  • Having a Chime Checking Account in good standing.
  • You received a single Qualifying Direct Deposit of $200 or more in the past 34 days.
  • Receiving at least $400 in cumulative Qualifying Direct Deposits in each calendar month.
    • Upon becoming a Chime Prime member, you may have access to a minimum Instant Loan of $100, as long as you’re eligible.

  • No outstanding Instant Loans.
  • For repeat loan offers, you will be re-evaluated for a new offer after you receive your next qualifying direct deposit of $200 or more in your Chime Checking Account.  
 
Your MyPay or SpotMe use may impact your loan eligibility
If you are using other Chime products like MyPay or SpotMe, your use may lower your limit or take away your access to this product. This helps make sure you don’t borrow more than you can manage or have too much of your qualifying direct deposit go toward repayment.
 
Note: If you are splitting your paycheck across banks, moving more (or all) of it to your Chime Checking account can help increase your limits and eligibility.
 
Meeting these requirements doesn’t guarantee a loan offer, and Chime Member Service agents can’t change loan decisions.
