How long does it take for Chime+ to activate after my deposit?

Chime+ benefits typically activate within 24 hours of receiving a qualifying direct deposit of $200* or more.

What if Chime+ doesn’t activate?

If 24 hours have passed and you still don’t see Chime+ badge:

  1. Check your direct deposit amount – It must be $200 or more in a single transaction.
  2. Confirm the qualifying source:
    1. Payroll deposits from an employer
    2. Government benefits (e.g., Social Security, VA benefits)
    3. Gig economy payments (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash)
  3. Restart your app – Close and reopen the Chime app.

*To be eligible for Chime+™ status you must receive a Qualifying Direct Deposit to your Chime Checking Account in the preceding 34 days. Certain products marketed as Chime+ benefits have additional eligibility requirements.
