Before transferring money from your external debit card to your Chime Checking Account, make sure it is linked to your Chime account. You can link your external debit card through the Chime app.
To link your external debit card:
Via the Move tab

- Open the Chime app.
- Tap the Move tab.
- Tap From.
- Select Add another account.
- Select Debit Card.
- Follow the prompts to link your external debit card.
Via Settings

- Open the Chime app.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Linked Accounts.
- Select Link a New Account.
- Select Debit Card.
- Enter the Debit Card information.
- Tap Link my Debit Card.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my external debit card not linking?
The name and address on your Chime account must match exactly with what’s on your external debit card. Make sure the card is active and supports transfers. If you're still unable to link a debit card, try linking an external account instead to transfer funds via ACH.
Which cards are not supported by Chime?
Chime doesn't accept credit cards, international cards, Chime debit cards, and prepaid cards such as government benefits and gift cards for initiating instant transfers.
