Chime regularly runs sweepstakes and contests to reward our members. While these promotions are exciting, it's important to stay vigilant about potential scams. Here's what you need to know about how Chime contacts winners:
- How winners are notified: If you’re a Chime member, your cash prize will be deposited directly into your Chime Checking Account within 10 business days after the winners are drawn. If you're not a current Chime member, the Chime Social team will reach out through a direct message (DM) from the verified @Chime account on social media. Non-members will have 24 hours to respond to the Chime Social team.

- Winners who already have a Chime account do not need to take any further action to receive their cash prize.
- Non-Chime winners must open a Chime account in order to receive a cash prize.
- For some of our non-cash prizes, members and non-members will need to reply to an email from Chime.
- How to spot scams: Messages claiming you won a prize but requesting payment, account details, or personal information are fraudulent. Chime will never ask for sensitive information, such as your account number, password, or Social Security number, to deliver your prize. Always verify that the message is coming from our official @Chime account (look for the verified checkmark).
If you suspect you’ve received a fraudulent message, do not respond or click on any links. Instead, we recommend deleting the message and blocking the fraudulent account.
