Am I eligible for MyPay®?

To be eligible for MyPay, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. You are eighteen (18) years of age or older;
  2. You live in an eligible state;
  3. You are a member of Chime Financial, Inc. (“Chime”) with a Chime Checking account (“Chime Checking Account”) in good standing.
  4. You have activated your physical Chime Visa® Debit Card, or have an open and active physical Chime Credit Builder Visa® Credit Card or Chime Cash Rewards Visa® Credit Card;
  5. You have downloaded the Chime mobile application (“Chime App”) from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store;
  6. You have received any of the following:
    • two (2) qualifying direct deposits of $200.00 or more per deposit in the last thirty-six (36) days;
    • one (1) qualifying direct deposit of $200.00 or more in the last thirty-six (36) days and added an Additional Data Source such as your work email or work address during MyPay enrollment; or
    • one (1) qualifying direct deposit of $200.00 or more in the last thirty-six (36) days from a known government benefits payer.

What are qualifying direct deposits?

The following direct deposit types are eligible to be used for repayment:

  • Payroll direct deposits
  • Gig economy payments (e.g., Uber)
  • Government benefits
  • Other permitted sources of income by Automated Clearing House (ACH) or Original Credit Transaction (OCT)

The following direct deposit types are not eligible for repayment:

  • Tax refunds
  • Trial deposits (for bank account verification)
  • Money transfers (e.g., Pay Anyone, Cash App, transfers from an external bank, etc.)

I meet all eligibility requirements. Why can I still not access MyPay?

Some factors that can prevent you from accessing MyPay include:

  • Living in a state MyPay is not yet eligible in
  • If you have previously requested to opt out of MyPay
  • If you continue to have an outstanding MyPay balance after 4 repayment attempts

How do I keep MyPay eligibility?

To keep MyPay access, you must continue to receive at least two qualifying direct deposits of $200 or more per deposit into your Chime Checking Account every 36 days.

A  qualifying direct deposit is a deposit from an employer, payroll provider, gig economy payer (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, etc.), government benefits payer (SSI, Welfare, etc.)  or other permitted source of income by Automated Clearing House (ACH) or Original Credit Transaction (OCT).

  • If your direct deposit is under $200 per deposit, it will not count as a qualifying direct deposit for MyPay.
  • You will also need to continue to reside in a state that is a MyPay eligible state.

When will MyPay be available in my state?

We are continually working to expand state eligibility for MyPay. If you are in an ineligible state at this time, we will let you know via email and in-app messaging if you become eligible.
