How do I open a Savings Account?

When you open your Chime Spending Account, you are presented with an option to open your Savings Account. If you choose to open your Savings Account at a later time, you can always do so at your convenience. Use the Chime mobile app or your online account and visit the Savings screen for instructions.

 

Can I deposit money directly into my Savings Account?

No, but here are a few easy ways to put money in your Savings Account:

  1. Transfer directly from your Spending Account
  2. Send 10% of every direct deposit of $500 or more with Save When I Get Paid

 

How do I close my Savings Account?

If you want to close your Savings Account, contact our Member Services team by calling 1-844-244-6363

Keep in mind that once you close your Savings Account, your funds are immediately transferred to your Spending Account. Federal law states that once your Savings Account is closed, you will not be able to re-open your Savings Account for 90 days.

 

Is there interest on a Chime Savings Account?

The current Annual Percentage Yield (APY) for the Chime Savings Account is 0.50% with an interest rate of 0.50%.
