How do I transfer money with Pay Anyone?

To use Pay Anyone, log into the Chime app and go to the Pay Anyone tab. You can search for friends using their phone number, email address or $ChimeSign (a unique handle that acts like a "username"). You can even search for friends who aren't Chime members yet.

Find the person you want to pay, enter the payment amount, and submit. If they're a Chime member, the funds will be instantly transferred from your account and your friend will be notified that the funds are available in their Chime Account. If they aren't a Chime member, they'll have the option to open an account with us or enter their card information, and the money will be transferred to them.

What are my transfer limits for Pay Anyone?

You can find your Pay Anyone limits under Settings in the Chime app: 

  1. Tap the gear icon in the top left-hand corner of the home screen to open Settings 
  2. In Account info, select View limits
  3. Scroll down to view your limits for Pay Anyone Transfers

How long does it take for a Pay Anyone transfer to post?

If the person you're paying is a Chime member, transfers will post to their account immediately. If you transfer money, your balance will update immediately as well. 

Whether you’re making a payment to a Chime member or a non-Chime member, the transfer will post to their account (Chime or non-Chime accounts) as soon as the money is claimed by the receiver. Sometimes transfers can be delayed by the receiving bank, or to prevent financial harm.

Can I use Pay Anyone to send money to someone who is not a Chime member? 

Yes! 

What happens if I accidentally transfer money to the wrong person?

Prior to sending a Pay Anyone Transfer, you will be prompted to confirm the transaction. Once the transfer is sent, it cannot be canceled or reversed. It is the sender’s responsibility to ensure the information is accurate prior to confirming the Friend Transfer request.

If you believe your Checking Account has been compromised or that a transfer from your Checking Account was completed without your permission, please contact 1-844-244-6363 immediately.
