How do I use Pay Anyone?

Pay Anyone allows you to send and receive money to your Chime account using their name, $ChimeSign, phone number, or email address. You can even pay people who aren’t Chime members yet.

Send money

To send money using Pay Anyone, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Chime app.
    2. Tap Pay Anyone.
    3. Enter the recipient’s name, $ChimeSign, phone number, or email address.
    4. Enter the amount to send and add a message.
    5. Tap Pay.

If they're a Chime member, the funds will be instantly transferred from your account and the recipient will be notified that the funds are available in their Chime Checking Account. If they aren't a Chime member, they'll have the option to open an account with us or enter their debit card information to accept the money in their existing bank account.

Note: You can view your transfer limits in the Chime mobile app by going to Settings > View limits.

Request money

    1. Open the Chime app.
    2. Tap Pay Anyone.
    3. Enter the recipient’s name, $ChimeSign, phone number, or email address.
    4. Enter the amount to request and add a message.
    5. Tap Request.

When the transfer has been completed, you’ll receive a notification that the money has been added to your Checking Account.

Note: You can view your transfer limits in the Chime mobile app by going to Settings > View limits.

Receive money

When someone sends you money via Pay Anyone, you’ll be notified when the funds are added to your Checking Account.

How do I find my $ChimeSign?

In your Chime app, tap the gear icon. Your $ChimeSign is located in the “Personal info” section underneath your name and always starts with a $.

How long does it take for a Pay Anyone transfer to post?

If the person you're paying is a Chime member, the transfer will be posted to their account immediately. If the person you’re paying is not a Chime member, the money will be transferred to them after they’ve accepted it.

What happens if I accidentally transfer money to the wrong person?

Prior to sending a Pay Anyone transfer, you will be prompted to confirm the transaction. Once the transfer is sent, it cannot be canceled or reversed. It is the sender’s responsibility to ensure the information is accurate prior to confirming the Pay Anyone transfer request.
