How do I reset my password?

Step 1: Go to https://member.chime.com/member/reset/password/new 

Step 2: Input your email address and the last four digits of your social security to confirm your identity. If you do not know your email address, click Forgot email address.

Step 3: You will receive a verification code via text to the phone number saved on your Chime account. Enter the code as requested.

Step 4: Check your email for a password reset option.

Step 5: Select Reset Password in your email.

Step 6: Choose and set a new password.

Step 7: Receive confirmation that your password has been reset. Login with your new password.

Step 8: Once you change your password and log in to the app, you will be asked to choose a new four-digit app code.

If you are unable to update your email address or password, please contact Chime Member Support at (844) 244-6363.

 

How do I reset my password when I have a new phone number? 

Step 1: In the Chime app, select Log In 

Step 2: Select Need Help?

Step 3: Select I forgot my password

Step 4:  Input your email address and the last four digits of your social security number

Step 5: If you’re unable to receive the verification code via text due to having a new phone number, select Having trouble? Update my phone number

Step 6: Follow the prompted instructions and submit the front and back of your valid government ID and a 3-angle selfie for us to verify your identity

Step 7: Once approved, you will enter in your new phone number 

Step 8: You will receive a verification code via text to the new phone number. Enter the code as requested.

Step 9: Once successful, you will have an option to Go to Sign In page, where you will reset your password

Will Chime ever ask me for personal information?

Please be aware that Chime will never contact you to ask you for your personal information, including:

  • Full Social Security Number (though we may request the last four digits)
  • Account and Routing numbers
  • Debit or credit card number/information (except the last 4 digits)
  • PIN (however, if you call Chime, we can help you reset your PIN)
  • Username and password
  • Money in exchange for services
  • Money in exchange for sweepstakes, prizes, or rewards
