If you received Social Security before May 1997, or are receiving both Social Security and SSI, Social Security is paid on the 3rd day and SSI on the 1st day of the month.
Note: If a scheduled payment date falls on a weekend or public holiday, benefits are paid the business day before your due date. It’s possible that both Social Security benefits will be paid on the same day due to this.
Please check the official 2023 SSA/SSI benefits payment schedule for specific monthly payment dates.
Can I set up Social Security payments directly through Chime?
Yes! You can use your Chime routing and account numbers to receive your Social Security benefits in your Chime Checking Account via Direct Deposit.
To receive direct deposits from your benefits provider, give them your Chime routing number and checking account number. The rest is taken care of for you. It is important to note that our banking partners can only accept Social Security deposits that match the name on your Account. You can read more about setting up your direct deposit in this article: How do I set up direct deposit?
I didn’t get my payment on the expected date. What should I do?
It may take some time for the deposits to be processed and cleared by Social Security before they’re available for withdrawal. If you didn’t receive your payment on the expected date based on the schedule, please allow three additional business days before contacting Social Security.
How do I know if my SSA/SSI direct deposit has arrived?
You’ll receive a push notification (if you have them turned on) on your phone and an email as soon as your direct deposit arrives. You can read more about direct deposits in this article: Why is my direct deposit late?
