MyPay at Work™ Repayment

This article is about MyPay at Work, a benefit available only to Chime members who work at an employer that entered into a partnership agreement with Chime. For the standard MyPay experience, visit MyPay in the Help Center. ‌

How does MyPay at Work Repayment Work?

When you use MyPay at Work, the amount you advance during a pay period is automatically deducted from your Chime Checking Account to repay your outstanding MyPay balance once your next direct deposit is posted. If your estimated pay date has passed and you haven’t received a qualifying direct deposit that fully covers your balance, we may begin using any deposit or funding into your Chime Checking Account to collect repayment.

What deposits are used for repayment?

Repayments will occur from your employer-specific direct deposits that are posted to your Chime Checking account before or on your estimated pay date.  If your estimated pay date has passed and you haven’t received a qualifying direct deposit that fully covers your balance, we may begin using any deposit or funding into your Chime Checking Account to collect repayment.

What happens if I do not repay my MyPay at Work outstanding balance?

MyPay at Work allows you to carry a negative balance, up to a set percentage of your total limit, for two pay cycles. After that, you must repay the full balance in the Chime app or by contacting Member Services to regain access.

Outstanding balances are automatically repaid from your Chime Checking Account when you receive a direct deposit from a Participating Employer1. If your paycheck does not cover the full amount owed, the remaining balance will continue to be deducted from future deposits, with up to four debit attempts.

If you are no longer employed by a Participating Employer, repayment will still be collected from your Chime Checking Account using other deposits.

1Outstanding MyPay at Work balances will be repaid from your Chime Checking Account when you receive a direct deposit from a Participating Employer or, if you are no longer employed by a Participating Employer, from your Chime Checking Account. See MyPay at Work Agreement for details.
