A “Card Payment from Secured Account” is a card payment when Safer Credit Building is enabled.
This automatic payment uses money in your Secured Deposit Account to pay your secured Chime Credit Builder Visa® Credit Card or secured Chime Visa® Credit Card balance.
When enabled, Safer Credit Building helps you pay your balance on time and build your credit history.
This transaction can look like money was added to your account, but no new money is added. The funds were already in your Secured Deposit Account and set aside for your credit card payment.
When the payment is made, those funds are applied to your credit card balance. This is an internal payment, so your available balance won’t change.
You can find this transaction in your transaction history for your Credit Builder or Chime Card. It typically appears with:
- Description: Card Payment from Secured Account
- Category: Transfer
- Type: Credit
- Status: Completed
You may also see your card balance decrease at the same time, which confirms the payment was applied.
