To set up direct deposit for a gig platform (e.g. Lyft, DoorDash, Uber, Instacart), you can set up directly within the Chime app:
- Tap Move > Set up direct deposit > Instant setup > Who pays you?
- Search for and select your gig platform
- Follow the prompts to sign in and complete setup.
Alternatively, you can set up directly within the gig platform by adding your account and routing numbers in the payment methods section. For more information, refer to How do I find my Chime account number and routing number?
The methods above should set up a recurring direct deposit to your account. Some gig economy pay sources also allow instant payouts to Chime:
To locate the Chime debit card information in the app:
- Tap Profile > Cards.
- Log into the gig platform and open the payment methods section.
- Select the option to be paid through a debit card and enter your Chime Visa® Debit Card details.
Some gig platforms may not process your deposit if your debit card transactions are disabled, so make sure your debit card transactions are enabled when setting up direct deposit for a gig economy payer. To do this in your Chime app:
- Tap Profile > Cards.
- Scroll to select the card you want to manage.
- Tap the toggle next to Freeze card.
- Green = frozen
- Gray = active
Note: If you need to provide the address of the bank to your payer, give them the name and address of the Chime partner bank that holds your deposits. You can view this information in your completed direct deposit form.
