For members with a Credit Builder account (not on Single Balance), the Credit Builder account is set as the default destination for MyPay advances, instead of the Chime Checking Account.
Note: If your Credit Builder Account has a negative balance, your advance will be sent to your Chime Checking Account instead.
You can still choose to send your advance to your Chime Checking Account each time you take an advance. To have your advance transferred directly to your Chime Checking Account, you can select the option in the app when requesting an advance:
- To request an advance, tap Get money as you normally would.
- After you enter the amount, under Send to, select the Chime Checking Account.
The amount you advanced during the pay period, regardless of which account you transferred it to, plus any fees you incurred (3% fee of the advance amount, with a built-in minimum and maximum fee amount ($2 minimum and $5 maximum) per instant advance), will still be deducted from your Chime Checking Account to repay your outstanding MyPay balance when you receive your next direct deposit from an eligible source.
Chime Credit Builder is a secured credit card. Credit limits are based on the amount moved into the secured deposit account. Chime does not report MyPay advances to credit bureaus.
