Send, track, and cancel a check with Chime

Check your eligibility

To use Chime Checkbook, you need:

  • A Chime Checking Account that has been open for at least 30 days.

  • An activated Chime Visa® Debit Card.

If you meet both requirements, you will see the Mail a check option in the Move section of the app.

Send a check

  1. In the Move section, tap Mail a check > Send a check.

  2. Choose a saved recipient or tap Add New Recipient.

  3. For a new recipient, select the Business or Individual tab, then enter: name, mailing address, and (for business recipients) account number.

  4. Enter the amount and tap Next.

  5. Review the check details and tap Send check.

Note: Checks can be mailed anywhere in the 50 states. International delivery is not available. Checkbook payments are generally limited up to $10,000 per payment, with a maximum of $25,000 per month. Your available limits may vary based on your account. To view your current Checkbook limits, sign into the Chime app or your account on chime.com.

Delivery timeline

Payment requests are processed by 8:00 AM MST each business day. Requests submitted after that cutoff are processed the next business day.

Once processed, your check is printed and mailed by Chime's check-printing partner. Most checks arrive within 3 to 9 business days, depending on USPS delivery times and the destination. Checks can't be expedited.

Check expiration

If a check is not cashed within 180 days, it expires automatically. The money returns to your Chime Checking Account within 1 to 3 business days.

Cancel a check

You can cancel a check as long as the recipient has not yet cashed or deposited it. Call Chime Member Services at (844) 244-6363 as soon as possible to request a cancellation. There is currently no fee to cancel a check.

If the cancellation is processed in time, the money returns to your Chime Checking Account within 1 to 3 business days.
