If someone opened a Chime account using your personal information without your permission, this is considered identity theft.
When you report identity theft to Chime, we may ask you for documentation to assist in our investigation. If our investigation confirms that your account was opened as a result of identity theft, you will not be responsible for activity on the account.
Please note that we are unable to reopen accounts that were opened without your authorization. If you wish to open your own Chime account, you may do so, and additional steps may be necessary to ensure the authorization of your account.
